The Grand Traverse Area Parkinson's Support Group is a non-profit
organization that relies on donations for funding. If you are

PARKINSON CARE SERIES
A Parkinson Care series will be
presented in partnership with Northwestern Michigan
College and the Grand
Traverse Area Parkinson’s Support Group.
The series will expand the knowledge and skill of healthcare
providers involved with caring for those with Parkinson disease.
The 8-week series, taught by area
professionals, follows a nationally recognized curriculum covering the
following topics: specifics of the disease, current treatments
(medication and interactions), speech, exercise, nutrition, ADLs, fall
prevention, and emotional health.
Comprehensive materials are included for each session.
The series is designed for those
working in long term care settings including assisted, living, foster
care, senior care housing, rehab, and nursing homes.
CEUs (1.6) are provided by NMC.
Additional CEs for nurses and assisted living personnel are in
process.
The 8 –week series will begin September
29 and end November 17, 2008, and will meet from 6-8 P.M. in Room 7 at the University Center
Campus. To register call
